Michelle Brannan
IFBB PRO Athlete

About

I am the very first UK Athlete to earn IFBB Professional status through competing in the Bikini Class, representing United Kingdom on behalf of UKBFF at IFBB Amateur European Championships, the first ever Arnold Classic Europe and the IFBB Amateur World Championships, winning Ms Bikini Amateur Olympia 2011 and being awarded Pro status in less than a year of competing with UKBFF.

I have featured in a number of magazines such as FLEX, Muscle and Fitness, Muscular Development, UltraFit, Fitnorama and Womens Running and was recently listed in FLEX magazine in the article 'The UK's Magnificent 7' as number four:

'Michelle emerged as Britain's first star of the new Bikini division.  She won the first ever UKBFF class at Colchester last year and this year put her unbeaten record on the line at the Amateur Olympia at the British Grand Prix, where once again came out on top.  The Personal Trainer who was preparing for the European Championships when we went to press, epitomizes the toned beach body look this class is all about'
John Plummer, Flex Magazine

My background is in Latin Dance, I am UKA certified to teach Lambada and have performed with European Team Salsa Champion dance group, Diablo Dance Company across the UK and Europe.

Throughout my childhood, I never really took part in any sports or activities, I was never very sporty or into Fitness and healthy eating.  When I was 18, I took my first dance class and never looked back.  I became interested in fitness through my love of dance when I was looking for a course to gain insurance to teach dance in a gym. In 2008, I enrolled onto a Fitness Instructing course and began reading about fitness and researching ideas.  In 2009, I came across some video clips of womens physique shows and my interest was drawn to the newly formed Bikini class, those women had amazing bodies and I decided I wanted to train to get a physique like that.  I worked hard on not losing too much weight but changing the composition of my body, in the first 6 months I dropped 6% bodyfat and gained more lean tissue.  I didnt weigh much different but I gave myself
a smaller waist and more shapely legs!

I started competing in 2010 and won my first show, after the first day on stage I was totally hooked.  I am very results driven so to be able to see the results of my hard work directly was great for me and also I loved the feeling of being on stage.  Over the past year I have been working on improving my physique, I have become stronger not only physically but mentallly too. I have learnt that with a vision, total focus and hard work you can achieve your goals.  I am also learning to enjoy the journey, because thats what really matters.
